SDL has a new, official road bike club because so many people here are serious road bikers. I've been wanting to get into it myself (I'm currently in the market for a decent bike), so I went to the club's first meeting yesterday to see what it was all about. Mind you, many of these people have won races, done the Lotoja, etc. So I was sitting there through the meeting, nodding my head and all that, then when the meeting was over they said, "So glad you came, Carrie! Will you join us for our ride tomorrow?" I was on my way out the door, as I had a meeting to get to, and I said, "I don't have a bike."

Haha! I love it...left them all confused. Maybe one of them wants to buy a new bike and will sell you their old one!

Jimmy, as he does sometimes, gets a bee in his bonnet. He absolutely HAD to take a boating class, and of course, could NOT go without me. (am I a good wife or what?!) Into the third class the instructor wanted to know about our boats. These questions started at the front of the class and worked their way back to us. By now, people had talked about their very expensive crafts, powerful motors, etc. And what did we have to say,.... You are right. "We do not own a boat". They all laughed right out loud! I was so humiliated. I am, pretty sure, I never went back.

If it ever comes to the choice of buying a racing bike or buying a car, go for the car! (They run about the same.....and the car you can still use in the dead of winter!) lol
yes, but bikes are the best choice when living amidst a zombie infestation
