Last Halloween post? Possibly?

If you're lucky, this will be my last Halloween post and I won't continue with the subject clear through Easter. Anyway! Last Saturday I went with some friends to the Nightmare on 13th in SLC. My first haunted house. It was pretty dang fun.

Most of it wasn't scary--just cool--but I did get scared two or three times. One time was when I was looking closely through a window, trying to see how they did the ghost illusion (I'm guessing this is it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peppers_Ghost) and the guy who was playing the ghost suddenly slammed against the window. Another time I got scared had to do with an illusion of falling. In fact, the visual illusion stuff was my favorite; some pretty trippy and tricky stuff.

My only complaint is that there were wayyyyy too many people going through, so it was hard to get scared with people filing in front of and behind you.

Video is the Travel Channel's feature on Nightmare on 13th.

Yeah - I'm not so good with scary stuff. Although haunted houses/corn mazes just make me laugh because I know they're all just struggling thespians...

Interesting video. I bet if Mark and I went, Mark would just get annoyed by the actors. But I know I'd get scared. It would be cool to see the animatronincs though.

thesbians? actors? no - these folks are strictly monitored during the day and carefully escorted to their padded cells each night.

This is how you feed and shelter the mentally ill. (Thats right we have to work for it, just like the rest of you.)
