The opinions -- they're a changin'!

I would think that I probably pretty well have my likes and dislikes down, seeing as how I'm nearly 30. I am surprised to discover, however, that two of my long-held opinions have recently flipped.

Firstly, I've decided I like cats. I used to believe that they were hardly worth their fur -- snobby ingrates! -- but now I'd consider having my own. I think this attitude alteration comes mostly from visiting LOLcats too often (those things are HILARIOUS with their invisible bikes, hankerin for cheezburgers), but I've come to appreciate how low-maintenance and non-clingy they are. And for me, their worth has increased tenfold since the laser pointer has become widely available.

Secondly, I'm not all that into camping anymore. I used to think Dad silly for not liking camping, but now I see his point: why sleep on the cold, damp, rocky ground, when you can sleep in a warm, soft bed? (Plus, I can't imagine one would love camping after serving in the military.) I mean, I can see camping when necessary, such as during a backpacking trip -- but if you can get to a bed, a shower and a TV, why the heck wouldn't you?

I'm shocked, and yet, not really...I knew something was up when you were considering taking a cat from D&J, and when you declined an invite to camp...=) However, these are 2 opinions of mine that are not yet changed - cats, boring, and camping, love it! But, we can still be sister friends. =)

that's one big reason we have cats, we're just too busy to devote a lot of time to a dog, and our cats don't care if we go off for an overnighter, as long as we leave them kibble!

as for camping, I still really like that, I just find it less fun when there's just the two of us that go. I'd like it much more if there were a bunch of people sitting around the fire, chatting. like that one year at moab. sweeet!

We must be twins. I'm the good twin, you're the evil twin.

It's always nice to see people learning and adjusting and growing . . .

But you are totally going the wrong way!

Sounds like it's time for an intervention!

Ok, unlike all these other people who are making actually smart comments about your blogs, suffice it to say, I now have to go to the "lue" as I've giggled my self silly in an absolute frenzy of empathetic opinion changes over the last few years...and that damn lazer pointer...eeeyyoww!! Where can I get one of those...maybe I can become a better multi-tasker...watch house AND play with my cat so it doesn't stare at me as if it were plotting some resentful "I hate you for rejecting me" payback for me.

I thought that I hated cats as well, until I got one of my own...and it's lovely! She is so low maintanance!! My dog, on the other hand, has "Love-me-or-I'll-die" disorder. It's enough to make one batty!!
