So I found this really cute house that I liked a lot and made what I thought was a reasonable offer on it: $3K below the asking price, with a request of the seller to pay closing, which was roughly $3K.
Surprisingly, this initial offer was rejected flat-out, with a message from the seller that he wanted full price and to not pay closing. I thought -- well, this dude's just holding out and sorta bluffing, so I'll make another offer, a bit closer, what the hell.
So on Monday I make another offer for full price with the seller paying closing. Surely he can't refuse! Yesterday I got word back --and this is the hilarious (insulting) result: the seller would agree to pay closing IF we can raise the asking price by $3K. Oh man! I laffed and laffed and laffed. I really did. Ho ho! My stomach hurts. (Buyer's market what?)

that's so stupid!! that guy wants his money, NOW! i wouldn't do it, if he is just being so silly about it, i wouldn't think it is worth it. it is cute though!
Bwaahahaha! The pains of purchasing a house. I'm with ya on it! :-) We just made a similar offer and now we're waiting to hear back {holding breath}
Let em' twist in the wind. Who needs a house anyway!
I bet this guy is wearing a clown suit and sports a round red nose.
Love Mom
Lame. If it's for ya it wont go by ya.
Keep looking.
How long has it been on the market?
i'm glad this is you and not me. i'd get much too frustrated.
He's ridiculous. As cute as it is - I bet you can find something for a better deal.
Man, are they crazy? That house is empty!!! There's no one even living there. Sounds like they aren't even serious in selling.
Especially cause there's a bunch of more houses up there that are listed at around the same price and they have either more sq footage or land....like mls 831360 - .30 acres, 2048 sq ft for 130K.
Don't know what it looks like inside, but still...So close to the asking price, that's ridiculous. The guy should've taken it.
