Ballad of the Rats
Fink went ‘round the empty town
In search of eggs and bacon
He robbed a bird and gnawed on sow
Then fried all on the pavement
The sun was hot, still hotter now
Since planes fell out the sky
Since desp’rate cries to Holy Thou
When humans up ‘n’ died
Fink thought back to man and son
Who often fed him cheese
Treated him as furr’d loved one
Though carrier of disease—
Bastard swung around the bend
His gut stretched tight with beer:
Things have gotten good, my friend,
Since humans don’t live here.
The boozy rat went down the road
Soppy-eyed and broiled
Trodding over stiffened folk
Who had begun to spoil
Fink curled up his long grey tail
And heaved a tiny sigh:
It cert’nly has been trunks of fun
Since humans up ‘n’ died

Awww - cute! The rat wants the humans to feed them and love them!
I wonder how fast the rats would take over if all the humans did die. Or would the cats just have more fun!?
I don't think I want to sleep in the same room with Fink anymore!
that's cool, i like trying to think of how animals think, you know?
Rhyming, that's more my speed.
fink hates me?

get into those vats o'beer?
And, what are you saying
about Fink's parents dear?
incrimiation by rhyme!
