One cool thing about Logan -- Part I

I often get frustrated with Logan due to its lack of cool stuff to do, foot traffic, artistic community events, etc., proliferation of box stores and hix (c'mon, Logan, why can't you be San Francisco or Taos, NM?!), but as B pointed out to me the other day, there are really some good things that go on here. Logan tries. The Art Cinema struggles along. There's Summerfest.

One of the things I've really enjoyed this summer is the weekly Gardner's Market. It's held in Merlin Olsen Park from 9 to 1 on Saturday mornings. The park is filled with booths of people not only selling their home-grown produce, but also their crafts (knitted wares, home decor, henna tattoos). There are also booths with pastries, bread, coffee, and lemonade. Usually a band will play. It's really a thing for the "NPR crowd," and I always enjoy getting out in the fresh air, watching the kids and dogs, running into acquaintances, enjoying some tasty treats, and taking in the music. It's also a handy way to pick up a healthy dinner for that night. Sadly, next weekend is the last market of the season.

I've been once or twice, but not this year. Too early for me these days. Okay lets face it anytime.

Hey! I'm the NPR crowd! :-)

Sad to see it ending. Doh!

Oh sweet Logan. How I miss you. I love that there is little foot-traffic. I'm more of a small town girl than I thought.

Ok, explain to the over 60 crowd, what is NPR?

Every day, since I moved back to Logan, I wake up, excited that I am home. Logan is cozy to me.

Can you float stick and leaf boats in the gutters of San Fran? I doubt it.

Can you be in beautiful mountains (real mts) in five minutes in San Fran? I doubt it.

Does Bear Lake have sharks? I doubt it.

Can you make crunch tracks in pristine snow on a moon lit night in Logan? YES!!!

I do love Logan. I have loved it for many reasons, over many seasons. hey, i made a poem.

I always though myself a city girl as well and thought I would despise Spanish Fork and it's "urban hick" community. But besides being Utah County, it's not all that bad. I like our Farmer's Market, too, along with our Harvest Festival, Llama festival, Fiesta Days, and India festival (at our huge Krishna temple). It's been pretty fun.

hey, I get hix-ups sometimes. They are kind of high pitched and girly - it's really embarrassing actually. You didn't explain how to get rid of them.

Is there ever going to be "One cool thing about Logan -- Part II"? Or did you only come up with one thing? :)
